Expansion Valves
Honeywell Expansion Valves – TMX/TLEX thermostatic (mechanical) vs KE2 Stepper Valve (electronic, controller-adjusted superheat).
Description
Honeywell Expansion Valves span both mechanical thermostatic types (TMX/TLEX Series) and electronic types (KE2 Refrigeration Stepper Valve). TMX Series thermostatic expansion valves serve general refrigeration and OEM applications – refrigerated cabinets, deep freezing plants, milk cooling, water chillers, air conditioning, cold stores, and heat pumps – with damped gas charge, adjustable superheat setting, and a stainless steel head/diaphragm. TLEX Series targets series installations like chiller units, heat pumps, and transport cooling, with balanced port construction and fixed orifice. The KE2 Refrigeration Stepper Valve is an electronic alternative used with a KE2 Therm controller, continuously adjusting to maintain the superheat setpoint rather than relying on the fixed mechanical response of a thermostatic (TEV) valve.
