The York YZ is a water-cooled magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller with a capacity range of 150 to 2,020 TR – the widest range in York’s magnetic bearing lineup, per Johnson Controls India’s regional specifications. It was the first chiller fully optimized for a next-generation low-GWP refrigerant, R-1233zd(E), which carries a GWP of 1. Combining variable-speed drive, a variable-geometry diffuser and magnetic-bearing technology, the YZ delivers up to 35% annual energy savings versus traditional fixed-speed, oil-bearing chillers, with part-load efficiency below 0.100 kW/ton. The lubrication-free, oil-free magnetic-bearing driveline has 80% fewer moving parts than conventional drivelines, reducing maintenance.
